Optical discs are slowly going the way of floppies. Though they are still a good storage media, USB flash drives are gaining more and more ground due to their increased performance and efficiency. You may end up thinking about this when you install an operating system from a DVD, which will keep you waiting. Fortunately, you can make the installation go faster and smoother if you turn to WinSetupFromUSB. It can help you create bootable USB flash drives from which you can install Windows or other operating systems. This way, you don't have to rely on DVDs anymore, which can get scratched and damaged in time.

WinSetupFromUSB is compatible with all modern Windows platforms and it's distributed as a freeware application. It comes in a 7ZIP archive, so you only need to open it and extract its contents, instead of going through an installation process. The software doesn't rely on any third-party tools or services, and it doesn't require powerful hardware.

Creating a bootable drive is a simple matter of targeting a USB drive, selecting an ISO image of a setup disk, and clicking a button. The software provides you with separate browsing options for different operating systems. For example, you will have to tick an option for Windows 2000, XP and 2003, for Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 10, for Linux or other operating systems, and browse for the appropriate ISO file.

The software can format the target drive, using a file system of your choice. What's more, you can pick between several special utilities which give you more formatting options for the target drive. You can also find a few advanced options on a separate window, for enabling custom menus names for Win Vista, 7 and 8, launching Q-Dir before setup, and performing other operations that would end up helping you when it's time to use your new bootable drive to install your operating system.

Installing Windows or other systems can be much easier and more convenient if you create a bootable drive with WinSetupFromUSB.

Pros

You can create bootable USB drives from which you can install an operating system. The software provides you with a wide range of configuration options. WinSetupFromUSB is lightweight, and it doesn't need to be installed.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to complain about.
